Wynn B. Sowersby is an experienced attorney, with a decades-long legal career that has given her a unique perspective on the challenges faced by people and businesses in litigation.
Wynn grew up here, in Atlanta, and is very proud of her deep roots in both Georgia and Atlanta. Both of Wynn’s parents are double-Emory graduates – with her father completing college and then medical school at Emory and her mother completing college and law school there. From her parents, she learned early on in life the value of hard work, discipline, and education. Wynn attended Davidson College, in Davidson, North Carolina, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She then earned her law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law, attending as a Bryan T. Castellow scholar. She graduated cum laude and was nominated into the Order of Barristers, which is a recognition reserved for the top ten students who demonstrate the highest skills in argument and advocacy for that graduating class.
Following law school, Wynn worked in private practice and gained extensive experience working within Georgia’s courts. She has worked for judges as a staff attorney in both the Superior and State Courts in both Fulton and DeKalb counties, handling cases of every variety and deciding legal issues on every aspect of both civil and criminal law. Over the course of her legal career, Wynn has reviewed and written judicial opinions on over 10,000 cases. Her legal work also has led to a number of precedent-setting court decisions involving millions of dollars. Because of her work ethic, she gives every legal issue and case her devoted attention. She does not flinch from complex legal problems; instead, she digs in to ensure the best possible results.
Wynn is a self-described legal geek. She loves the law and has a natural curiosity that drives her to always seek the right answer in every case. When she is not channeling her inner law-geek, Wynn prefers to talk about her family. Wynn and her husband have three children who keep them busy. Because three kids are not enough, Wynn and her husband also are parents to two dogs and two cats. They live in Alpharetta, Georgia.
